When DE atelier Architects were commissioned to design the renovation for 9 Lelean Street, Ocean Grove we carefully considered the opportunities and the challenges of the 1960's pole house. The base structure of the house had good ‘bones’ and the layout could be modified to accommodate the requirements of a modern family home. The existing timber poles were a feature that we wanted to display and became integral to the design. We inverted the existing plan to bring all of the living onto the ground floor level and bedrooms to the first floor level.
The transformation was completed in 2009 and was proudly displayed to the public during Sustainable House Day in 2013.
Now this house is on the market with Bellarine Property with Expressions of Interest from $1.5M to $1.65M.
